DAPORIJO, 20 May: The Upper Subansiri district administration has issued an emergency notice to the people to refrain from earth-cutting on account of the monsoon likely to cause natural calamities.
Deputy Commissioner Mika Nyori has alerted the people of the district to take preventive measures prior to the approach of the monsoon, besides leaving no stone unturned in combating Covid-19.
Earlier, he had directed all the officers and officials of the district to stay at their places of posting to tackle any situation during the monsoon period. He had also directed the officers concerned to “comply with the orders and guidelines under the Disaster Management Act in period of any natural calamities.”
The administration has warned that strict action would be initiated against those who indulge in earth-cutting activities that lead to public disturbance.
