ITANAGAR, 21 May: Three people have died of the coronavirus in the state, taking the total to 92 lives lost.
According to Friday’s health bulletin, a 50-year-old man from Gunanagar in Namsai died at his residence on 17 May, a 43-year-old female from Wakro in Lohit died at the DCH in Pasighat, and a 60-year-old male from New Dukpe died at the DCH in Jairampur, Changlang, on Friday.
Of the three, the 43-year-old female had taken the first dose of vaccination.
On Friday, a record 394 persons
tested positive for the virus, with 84 in the Itanagar capital region (ICR), which recorded 12 percent positivity rate. The ICR tested 706 people.
Dibang Valley reported 24 percent positivity rate, with five of the total 21 testing positive, while Upper Siang recorded 26 percent positivity rate with 43 cases reported among 164 persons tested. Upper Siang has a total of 77 cases.
Changlang recorded 49 cases among 467 persons tested.
Of the total positive cases reported on Friday, 176 are reported to be symptomatic.
The DCH in Chimpu in Itanagar, where serious patients are treated, has only 14 vacant seats of the total 70.
Altogether 206 people were reported to have recovered from the virus on Friday. The total active cases in the state is 2,916 (see bulletin).
