Three more succumb to Covid-19, death toll at 158

295 fresh Covid-19 cases reported

ITANAGAR, 17 Jun: Three more people have succumbed to Covid-19 in the state, taking the death toll to 158.

According to the DHS report, a 52-year-old female patient with comorbidity died in Changlang on Wednesday. The patient had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT on 16 June. She had taken the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on 29 April.

A 26-year-old female patient from the ICR died at the Chimpu DCH on Thursday. The patient had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the DCH on 11 June and had been admitted there on the same day. Her vaccination status is nil.

An 89-year-old female patient with comorbidity from the ICR died at the Chimpu DCH on Wednesday. The patient had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the flu clinic of Niba Hospital on 10 June and had been admitted to the DCH on the same day. Her vaccination status is also nil.

Meanwhile, the state on Thursday reported 295 fresh Covid-19 cases, with 122 of them being symptomatic.

The Itanagar capital region reported the highest 37 cases, followed by 36 cases in Changlang and 27 cases each in Kurung Kumey and West Kameng.

With 19 percent, Longding has the highest positivity rate in the state.
