DC urges villagers to take 2nd dose of Covid vaccine

RAGA, 6 Nov: Kamle DC Adong Pertin urged all the eligible residents of Ligu, Hankar, Yitor, Pobo, Bomikoto and Jigi villages in Sigin-II zilla segment to take their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and make their villages “100 percent Covid-19 vaccinated.”

The DC said this during an ‘awareness-cum-influencers meeting on Covid-19 vaccination and routine immunization’ organized by the District Health Society at Jigi village on 5 November.

As per the district health department, all the residents of these six villages have taken the first dose of the vaccine but are reluctant to take the second dose “due to some negative social media posts.”

Stressing that “good health is real wealth,” the DC asked the HGBs, GBs, PRI leaders and intellectuals of the villages to

“dispel all the myths and superstitions around the Covid vaccine and take stern action against the rumourmongers and make the villages 100 percent vaccinated.”

Jigi village, located about 120 kms from here, is the eastern most village of Kamle district, bordering Upper Subansiri district.

During the awareness programme, DRCHO Dr Kapu Sopin dispelled myths such as death after getting the second dose of the Covid vaccine, while DDSE Tape Jeram, DDMO Toku Natung, DHO Piter Dubi Ligu and Puchigeko CDPO Gedam Don created awareness regarding their departments’ schemes and programmes.

Later, the DC, accompanied by the DMO, the DDSE, the DDMO, the DHO, the CDPO and Sigin-II ZPM PL Murtem inspected the schools, health facilities and anganwadi centres in Mite, Niji and Ligu villages. (DIPRO)
