HAPOLI, 11 Feb: Lower Subansiri DC Somcha Lowang has asked the banks in the district to ensure early disbursement of loans to the selected vendors, individuals and SHGs to achieve the targets under the Deendayal Antodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM).
Lowang, who is also the DUDA chairperson, was addressing a meeting of the District Task Force Committee on Self Employment Programme (SEP) and PM SVANidhi under the DAY-NULM here on Friday.
She called for identifying genuine beneficiaries to set up gainful self-employment ventures.
“The UD department, in collaboration with the government approved training agencies should ensure appropriate training to the beneficiaries before extending financial support,” she said.
The DC directed DUDA Member Secretary Nich Jacob to ensure timely submission of completion reports of the schemes for onward submission to the government.
The SEP is a component of the National Urban Livelihoods Mission. It provides financial assistance to individuals and groups of urban poor for setting up gainful self-employment ventures.
Bank managers and officials of the DUDA also attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
