ROING, 23 Feb: The 5th edition of the District Level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy on Football and Volleyball Under-16 (Boys and Girls) for Lower Dibang Valley district was declared open by MLA Mutchu Mithi on Wednesday.
Mithi advised the players to strive to achieve excellence in the sports field they had chosen and develop team work and discipline, which he said was essential in sports.
“Just like Hangpan Dada sacrificed his life to protect our nation, any fight, be it for the country or sports, should be taken up by us with enthusiasm and dedication,” he added.
Informing about the tournament, DSO Raju Mipi said that it was being conducted after a gap of two years.
SP JK Lego, heads of departments and players were present on the opening day. (DIPRO)
