MLA urges youths to shun drugs

KHONSA, 24 Feb: Khonsa West MLA Chakat Aboh appealed to the youths of Hunkan village to shun drugs and other narcotic substances and take up sports to develop a sense of brotherhood and bring trust among the people.

The MLA said this while attending the final match of a football tournament organized by the 36 Bn CRPF under its civic action programme at Nehru Stadium here on Thursday.

The final match was won by team Hunkan-A, which defeated team Hunkan-B by 3-2 goals.

The MLA commended the battalion’s commandant and his team for conducting various games and sports events for the youths, and for taking up civic action programmes like installation of solar streetlights, free medical camps, construction of bus waiting sheds, etc, in remote areas of the district.

36 Bn CRPF CO Pawan Kumar Singh in his address assured to organize more such programmes in the future to increase awareness among the youths about the importance of sports and education.

The event was also attended by DC Taro Mize, SP Kardak Riba, Deputy Commandant Gopal Singh Bora, and others. (DIPRO)
