ITANAGAR, 10 May: Itanagar Capital Region Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom has called for regulating the functioning of liquor shops, beer bars and bonded warehouses to check whether these are functioning in accordance with the guidelines.
During a meeting with officers of the tax & excise department here on Tuesday, the DC said it is important to regulate the functioning of such establishments, particularly the liquor shops and bars along the highway near educational institutions.
“Regular raids should be carried out jointly by the district administration and the tax & excise department to check illegal sale of IMFL, especially in ghumties etc,” Potom said, and added that the timings for opening of liquor shops and bars should be ensured in letter and spirit. (DIPRO)
