Governor urges people to donate blood

ITANAGAR, 13 Jun: Governor BD Mishra has appealed to every able-bodied person, in the permissible age and health limits, in the state to donate blood and raise awareness on the need of regular blood donation.

He conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all the blood donors of the state for their compassion, empathy “and pay back to the human cause on the important occasion of World Blood Donor Day.”

“Let this day create wider public realisation for the need of extensive and frequent gratis blood donations,” he said.

In a message, the governor said that, on account of the significance of blood donation, the World Health Organisation has declared 14 June as World Blood Donor Day.

“On this day, far and wide programmes are held to raise awareness amongst the potential blood donors regarding the lofty act of blood donation and also to express gratitude to each blood donor,” he said.

He commended “all benevolent volunteer and unpaid for blood donors for their precious gift of blood to the blood needy people.” (Raj Bhavan)
