NFR Consultative meet

ITANAGAR, 29 Jun: A divisional railway users consultative committee meet of the Northeast Frontier Railway, Rangiya division was held in its divisional headquarters on Wednesday wherein improvement in safety of the tracks was discussed.

 During the meeting which was chaired by Rangia division divisional railway manager, Rangiya division nominated member Roger Nabam Hina raised the issue of status of railway bridge over the Pachin river from railway station till Naharlagun township and the erection of security fencing in the stretch between Gumto and Naharlagun railway stations.

The authorities of the Rangiya railway division have informed that the bridge will be completed by 31st December 2022 which is being executed by M/s Tama fabrication works.

Citing the recent death of a young man after being hit by a train and also referring to various other deaths of animals and humans in the past, the authorities have assured to examine the matter on a serious note and implement necessary action.

The authorities further informed that both sides of the approach road have been constructed including the retaining walls near the bridge.

A demand for separate bogie for passengers from Arunachal Pradesh travelling to New Delhi in Arunachal Express considering safety measures was also sought in the meet.
