DIYUN, 1 Jul: Changlang DC Sunny K Singh emphasised the urgent need to improve the low learning levels of the students in Changlang district, and assured to take steps to improve the same.
He was speaking during the valedictory function of a five-day ‘teacher capacity building training’ programme organised by the Changlang district administration, in collaboration with the India Foundation for Education Transformation, from 27 June to 1 July, here on Friday.
Over 80 teachers from 30 government upper primary schools of Diyun circle attended the training, which covered key components like classroom management, foundational literacy, foundational numeracy, and pedagogy.
The DC acknowledged the acute problem of shortage of teachers in Diyun and Bordumsa circles and said that “it is a perennial problem not only in Arunachal Pradesh but also in other states of India, which is why teachers need to go the extra mile to remain invested in their students through ways and means beyond classroom teaching.”
Later, 30 topper students of various government and private schools of Diyun and Bordumsa circles were given mobile tablets.
The teachers who completed the training were also handed certificates.
Diyun EAC S Roy, BRCC KK Longkho, Diyun ZPM Mukesh Deori and others attended the programme.
