ITANAGAR, 6 Aug: Governor BD Mishra attended the 3rd National Committee meeting on the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday.
The series of programmes organised across the country, including the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, as part of the AKAM, were discussed during the meeting.
It was suggested that events such as marches, street plays and other activities be conducted across the country as part of the celebration to spread the idea of patriotism and nationalism.
The participants also called for “tracing the history of the freedom struggle, in which citizens must be encouraged to take part.”
Presiding over the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the celebration of AKAM “must also set pace and targets of national achievement when our people celebrate the century of our independence in 2047.” (Raj Bhavan)
