PASIGHAT, 6 Jul: Sixty-eight members of the JN College Alumni Association planted 110 saplings of ornamental and fruit bearing trees in the campus of the college here in East Siang district on Thursday to mark the culmination of the Van Mahotsav Week, which had begun on 1 July.
Among the alumni were Arunachal Pradesh University Vice Chancellor Prof Tomo Riba, East Siang DFO Tasi Mize, and ABK (Apex) secretary general Okom Yosung, the college informed in a release.
JNC Principal Dr Tasi Taloh, who is himself an alumnus of JNC, expressed appreciation for the alumni, and said that “this is a way of giving back to the alma mater.”
Assistant Professor Yakam Saroh appealed to the college’s alumni across the state to “come together and give back to the college in whatever capacity one can in the future also.”
