Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to request the APPSC to kindly postpone the AE recruitment test to 27 September instead of 27 July, the reason being that the commission has released newly added syllabus for the AE examination just recently, ie, on 17 March.
Conducting the AE recruitment test in July doesn’t make sense, since it only gives us four months to complete the newly added syllabus.
Also, the newly added syllabus is very vast and quite similar to the IES (engineering civil services) examinations conducted by the UPSC. Five new subjects have been added and several other subjects have newly added topics as well.
The students who have funds to join premier institutes like Made Easy, etc, in Delhi will be well prepared for the examination, since the new AE syllabus is at par with the IES syllabus.
But kindly consider the economically weaker sections who can’t afford to study in Delhi, etc, and have joined institutes in the capital region just recently for the newly added syllabus, and most of the institutes in ICR started teaching the new syllabus from 1 April. With only two months left, it is near to impossible to complete the newly added syllabus.
Even though these subjects were present in graduation, we all know the level of education these days in most of the engineering colleges other than the IITs and NITs. Most of the students don’t have their basic concept clear till they join a coaching institute.
Therefore, I would like to request the commission to kindly give us at least four months time from now, which would give us ample time to complete the newly added subjects, and so that equal opportunity is given to all.
