Editor,

I wish to express serious concern and grievance regarding the ongoing expo being held at IG Park, Itanagar. Over the past several days, loud music has been played late into the night – often well beyond midnight – causing significant disturbance to residents living in the vicinity of the park.

The continuous high-volume sound has become a major source of distress for students preparing for examinations, elderly citizens, infants, patients, and working individuals who require adequate rest. This situation not only reflects a lack of consideration for public welfare but is also a clear violation of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, which strictly prohibit the use of loudspeakers after 10 pm.

What is more concerning is the apparent lack of monitoring or intervention by any regulatory authority. The public is left wondering whether there is no overseeing body responsible for enforcing noise-control regulations during public events. If rules exist only on paper while such violations continue unchecked, it undermines public trust in governance mechanisms.

I earnestly request the district administration, the police authorities, and the Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board to take immediate and strict action to ensure that the event adheres to legal guidelines, and that peace is restored to the affected neighbourhoods.

I hope that this issue will receive prompt attention and necessary steps will be taken at the earliest.
