BOMDILA, 30 Apr: An interactive session between CGST authorities and traders of West Kameng district was held here on Wednesday.
Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Custom’s member Surajit Bhujabal, along with CGST Commissioner Shyam Kanu Mahanta and other officials of the department attended the programme.
The interaction programme was organised by the CGST Commissionerate, Itanagar, with the objective of engaging directly with local traders and businesspersons and addressing their concerns related to GST compliance.
A large number of traders and businesspersons from across the district participated in the session, and raised various issues and concerns before the CGST authorities. The officials took note of the issues raised, and assured that necessary steps would be taken to address them.
Speaking on the occasion, West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar appreciated the initiative of the CGST authorities in reaching out to the trading community and engaging with them directly to promote better understanding of GST provisions and compliance requirements.
He also commended the traders for their active participation and contribution towards strengthening tax compliance, terming it a significant contribution to nation-building. (DIPRO)
