ITANAGAR, May 22: ‘Khelo Itanagar’, a volleyball tournament for both men and women, organized in line with ‘Khelo India’ to encourage the youths toward sports, will begin on 23 May at Jollang near here.
Ninety-one teams – 54 men’s and 37 women’s – from Itanagar constituency are participating in the four day event, organized by the Booth Level Committee of Itanagar under the supervision of its chief patron, state BJP vice president Tame Phassang.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Power Minister Tamiyo Taga, and Sports & Youth Affairs Parliamentary Secretary Nyamar Karbak are expected to attend the opening ceremony.
