ITANAGAR, May 30: The Arunachal Anti Corruption Sena-Anna Samarthak (AACS-AS) has raised strong objection to the appointment of Tungri Effa as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of the Hydro Power Corporation Arunachal Pradesh Ltd, claiming that he does not possess the requisite qualification to adorn the post.
Alleging that Effa’s appointment was made on political ground, the AACS-AS in a representation to the governor appealed for appointment of a qualified and competent person to the post “to realize the real purpose of the corporation.
“The post of a CMD is equivalent to the post of a commissioner or a chief engineer, and the head of any department must be an IAS/APCS cadre or equivalent with experience in the profession,” the AACS-AS stated.
“In this instant case,” it said, “the same criteria have not been maintained.”
The activists further demanded a gazette notification regarding the rules/method for recruitment to the posts of CMDs/HoDs, and sought the governor’s intervention in the matter.
