BOMDILA, Oct 1: West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Sonal Swaroop underscored the need for conducting baseline surveys and having a holistic approach towards implementation of the rurban schemes in the district.
Addressing a meeting with government officers here on Monday, the DC urged them to fill up the critical gaps in various sectors to facilitate well-balanced growth and development.
She directed the line departments to ensure that the schemes incorporated in the rurban areas are carried out according to the laid down norms to avoid duplicity.
Meanwhile, the third meeting of the district programme management unit of the Shayama Prasad Mookerji Rurban Mission (SPMRM) for Nafra rurban cluster was also held here on the same day to approve the DPR.
DRDA PD KN Damo said the objective of the SPMRM is to address lopsided development and to fill critical gaps in various sectors.
“The mission is aimed at augmenting or providing urban facilities such road, potable drinking water, power connectivity, banking system, etc, in the identified village clusters for sustainable development,” he said. (DIPRO)
