PASIGHAT, Oct 9: Thirty extension functionaries of agriculture and allied departments from different parts of the state are participating in a four-day training programme on ‘Disaster mitigation: planning and management practices’ which began at the State Agriculture Management & Extensions Training Institute (SAMETI) here on Tuesday.
The programme is jointly organized by the Extension Education Institute, under the administrative control of Jorhat-based Assam Agricultural University and the SAMETI.
Addressing the inaugural function, College of Horticulture & Forestry Dean Dr BN Hazarikaexhorted the participants to reap the benefits of the training programme. SAMETI Director DJ Das also spoke.
