PALIN, Feb 15: Kra Daadi deputy commissioner S Miji has declared the 24-hour district bandh on 18 February announced by the All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) illegal under Section 144 CrPC and the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
“Violators of the order would be viewed seriously and penal action will be initiated as per the law,” the DC stated in an order issued on Friday.
The AKDDSU has announced the bandh saying the administration failed to meet the union’s demand for proper implementation of the Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksha Yojana in the district.
It has alleged biased selection of schools for implementation of the scheme, saying that “many deserving schools which should have been selected were deprived from the scheme.”
The union is demanding reconstitution of the selection board by involving the district and branch student unions.
