SEPPA, Feb 6: East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Singh Rajawat has directed the district medical officer (DMO) to initiate early action for posting requisite specialists – particularly in ENT, surgery, radiology and ophthalmology – and other health staffers at various health facilities across the district.
The DC issued the direction after learning about the status and requirement of health workers and doctors during a meeting of the District Health Development Committee here on Wednesday.
He instructed that the operation theatre, the SNCU, the dental X-ray machine, the ultrasound equipment, and other units in the district hospital here be made operational at the earliest.
The DC also called for early inauguration of the district hospital, and directed the ADC to assess and submit the report on the hospital’s compliance with the IPHS guidelines.
He directed the medical superintendent (MS) to arrange for early repair of the solar panel system and for cleaning of the water tanks at the hospital, and sought the “functional status” of the hospital’s canteen.
The DC also sought detailed reports on the construction of the blood bank and the morgue at the district hospital, as well as the district warehouse at the DMO office.
Suggesting that the feasibility of outsourcing sanitary workers be looked into, Rajawat directed the MS to monitor and report the performance of the sanitary workers (MTS).
He asked the nodal officer for biomedical waste management to “install a proper system of waste management,” and to ensure that wastes are disposed of as per the BMW guidelines. He also suggested conducting “surprise inspections of all private clinics established in and across Seppa township.”
In order to protect government land which falls under the health department from encroachment, the DC directed all MOs to submit the status of “the physical asset of their respective health facilities across the district for early issuance of official land documents.”
He also sought monthly submission of HMIS (health indicator) report, and said that the availability of medicines under the MMRKK will be reviewed in the next meeting.
He also reviewed the status of the dropouts under the JSY and the JSSK. (DIPRO)
