CBI inquiry sought

ITANAGAR, Sep 26: In a letter to the state Home Minister on Monday last, Kurung Kumey Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sangha Tagik has appealed to him to order a CBI inquiry into the murder of Tawang Government Higher Secondary School student, Toko Yame.
Stating that such tragic incidents would make irreparable dent to the image of Arunachal Pradesh, Tagik demanded proper inquiry into the case to unravel the truth and bring the culprits involved to book at the earliest.
Meanwhile, strongly condemning the brutal murder of Toko, the East Kameng unit of District Youth Congress (DYC) has in a release on Tuesday appealed to the Chief Minister to immediately suspend the Tawang Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police for their alleged failure to control law and order in the district.
While urging people of the state not to give any communal colour to the issue, the DYC further sought CBI inquiry into the case for early arrest of the culprits involved.
Further, the All East Kameng District Union (AEKDSU), with the support of various other students unions and students of Seppa Higher Secondary School organised a peaceful candle march at Seppa on Tuesday evening in memory of Toko.
Leading the candle march, AEKDSU President Chakang Yangda called for justice and demanded stringent punishment for the culprits.
The union said that if the administration of Tawang does not take prompt action against the culprits involved, it would be compelled to resort to a democratic movement against the Tawang District Administration.
