ITANAGAR, Dec 23: The Raj Bhavan will launch a cleanliness drive themed ‘Hamara Elan Swachhta aur Nari Utthan’ on 8 January, 2018, with the aim of making Arunachal Pradesh ‘cleaner, greener and plastic-free.’
For the cleanliness drive the entire Capital Complex has been divided into 30 wards according to population, and groups of four to five wards will be taken up for cleaning simultaneously.
The selected wards will be cleaned by the participants, who will be led by Governor, Dr BD Mishra, himself. All the employees of the Raj Bhavan, along with eminent personalities, members of the district administration and the Itanagar Municipal Council, and volunteer residents of the wards will be joining the programme.
A door-to-door cleanliness awareness drive will also be started simultaneously.
The governor has urged the Information & Broadcasting ministry to be a part of the team, “so that the message of ‘Clean Itanagar’ reaches each and every individual.” (PRO to Raj Bhavan)
