NGO seeks bridge to connect colony

ITANAGAR, Apr 24: The Arunachal Civil Society (ACS), on behalf of the dwellers of Modirijo Colony near Six Mile here has appealed to state government to construct a bridge over the Donyi Polo river to connect to the colony.
ACS chairman Patey Tayum said the residents of the colony, particularly the school-going children, teachers, and other government employees, have been facing lots of hardships due to the absence of a bridge connecting the colony.
He said he visited the colony on Monday and witnessed rain-triggered flood disrupting communication and creating havoc among the riverside dwellers.
The colony’s dwellers had last year approached the government for construction of a bridge, but to no avail, Tayum said.
