MLA urges landowners to not create hurdles in TAH work

PALIN, May 25: Palin-Chambang MLA Takam Pario has appealed to the landowners in Palin township affected by the construction of the Joram-Koloriang stretch of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) not to create hurdles in the road construction work.
He made this appeal while addressing the affected people here on Thursday.
“The road after completion will accelerate the development of the area,” MLA said, and appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration. He asked the officers present at the meeting to submit details of the grievances raised by the affected people, and requested the Kra Daadi DC to resolve the issue raised by the local people.
On 23 May, the people of Palin township, including the project affected ones, had served a notice to the DC, requesting him to stop the ongoing TAH construction work in Palin township, near the petrol pump, from 24 May.
They expressed dissatisfaction over land compensation paid to the affected people on the stretch of road from Jullang (near the petrol pump) to Dokio Longpo.
Palin Town Highway Effected Deprive Committee (PTHEDC) chairman Khyoda Anarji said that the affected people were not at all satisfied with the compensation they received.
“We are not against development; we want proper survey and marking of exact area of land that to be affected by road project,” he said.
Thirty-three affected people are not satisfied as the compensation amount does not match with the property, he added.
ZPC Rido Mena and ZPM Tarh Monica appealed to the administration to look into the matter in the greater interest of the local people.
