PASIGHAT, Sep 6: The anganwadi workers of East Siang district were administered the ‘Poshan pledge’ by ICDS DD Ponung Angu Ering at the CDPO office here on Thursday, on the occasion of the National Nutrition Month.
CDPO O Panyang and supervisors also took the pledge.
Stressing on the role of anganwadi workers in creating awareness on proper nutrition for healthy children and citizens, Ering asked them to work with dedication. She described anganwadi workers key stakeholders in delivery of ICDS services at the grassroots level.
The PHE, health & family welfare, rural development, panchayati raj, education, and food & civil supplies departments will jointly organize various programmes throughout the district during September to create awareness on the importance of nutrition. (DIPRO)
