Women not safe under Modi regime: APMCC

ITANAGAR, Sep 22: The Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (APMCC) on Saturday said women and daughters of the country are not safe under the Narendra Modi regime.
In a press statement, the APMCC said a video has surfaced on the social media, in which a woman can be seen being beaten up mercilessly by an angry mob in Bihar over suspicion of her being a murderer.
“The woman was even stripped and paraded naked on the streets,” said APMCC president Nabam Yakum.
She said the increasing incidents of mob violence and atrocities against women proved that the BJP government had lost its control over the law and order situation in the country.
“Is this the way ‘Bharat maa ki betiyan’ are honoured in the land where 33 goddesses are worshiped with all reverence?” questioned Yakum.
The APMCC demanded that the Bihar government take stringent action against those involved in the mob violence, and also against the policemen for their alleged dereliction of duty.
“Modi takes credit for the ‘triple talaq’ ordinance. But on other hand, he maintains a stoic silence when the daughters of the country are raped, stripped naked, murdered, and their rights are trampled on the ground,” the APMCC president said.
