NEW DELHI, Sep 24: Member of Parliament Ninong Ering met Union Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore here on Monday to discuss the issue of non-release of funds for the mini-stadium in Bilat in East Siang district, which was earlier approved by the ministry under the Khelo India initiative.
They also discussed the matter of merging the proposal for installation of Astroturf on the football ground in Bilat with the scheme.
In a letter to the union minister, Ering stated, “It is very unfortunate that all the schemes approved are in the part of western constituency and my eastern constituency is denied.
As per discussion only Bilat mini-stadium has been prioritized but the fund has not been released. But as a proposal for installation of Astroturf for football ground in Bilat has been submitted to the government, this also may be merged as sufficient land is available as per the Khelo India initiative.”
