COSC chairman assures to take up state’s issues with Centre

ITANAGAR, Oct 26: The chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba has assured to take up with the Centre the issues of infrastructure development in Arunachal Pradesh.
Admiral Lanba said this when he called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Friday.
The COSC recalled his earlier visits, and lauded the people of the state for their culture, simplicity, and nationalism. He also commended the military-civil synergy in the state.
Mishra expressed hope that border security challenges of the state, particularly on the northern borders, would be taken care of by the COSC.
Earlier, Admiral Lanba felicitated achievers of the state, including Chum Darang, author Gumlat Mayo, singers Chochung Dema Thungon and Jelly Kaye, martial artist Dingjamso Tawsik, wildlife filmmaker Tallo Antony, theatre activist and actor Tai Tugung, and entrepreneur Tage Rita Take.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who was also present, highlighted the migration of population from border areas, and advocated expediting the frontier road projects and other developmental progra-mmes. (Raj Bhavan)
