ITANAGAR, Nov 28: Minister for skill development and entrepreneurship & education, Honchun Ngandam advised youths to take advantage of various skill development trainings been conducted by government and become skilled in order to get employed.
He was speaking during the valedictory programme of the Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) Itanagar organized self-supported training in hospitality, held at DBYC here on Wednesday.
A total of 22 youths have completed their training in front office management, house-keeping and food & beverage service.
While lauding theDBYC for its constant efforts inthe field of skill development and job placement, the Minister advised the trainees to work hard. He exhorted the students to remain in their places of work for a few years, as that would bring dividends. “Kindly do not leave your places of work after a month or two due to difficulties as this would defeat the purpose of skilling,” said the Director.
The trainees will leave for Kerala on 1 December and will start working in front office management, house-keeping and food and beverage service in four star to five-star category resorts and hotels and will initially earn a minimum of rupees seven thousand after food and accommodation in campus for the first six months. Thereafter they are to be absorbed as temporary employees for yet another six months and then as regular employees.
