Book on criminal law released

NAHARLAGUN, Jun 23: Gauhati High Court Judge, Justice Nelson Sailo, released a book titled Easy Referencer on Criminal Law, written by advocate Tadup Tana Tara and published by the Himalayan Publishers, at a city hotel here on Friday.
Lauding Tara’s effort, Justice Sailo expressed hope that the book would serve as an easy reference to understand several basic principles of criminal law.
“There are references on judgment of the apex court, which would be useful for a lawyer or any layman,” he said.
Gauhati High Court Itanagar Permanent Bench Bar Association president, Muk Pertin, also congratulated Tara on his “noble idea,” and said the book would “go a long way in inspiring young lawyers.”
Dedicating the book to his mother, late Nyari Kupu Tana, Tara said, “The book is my sincere attempt to share my years of experience in the field of law. I have tried to present the basic principles of criminal jurisprudence, and several topics, such as the different stages of criminal cases, the various provisions of appeals and bails, including the forms contained in Schedule II of the CrPC 1973, in a nutshell. I hope the book serves its purpose.”
He also thanked the 19 young lawyers who assisted him, and the publisher for its support.
