Supung Ajing and Khonkhung ‘B’ champions of open and veteran category
ITANAGAR, Jun 23: Supung Ajing United (SAU) won the Capital Complex Dree Football Tournament-2019 in the open category while Khonkhung ‘B’ became the champion in the veteran category.
SAU beat Miichi United via penalty shootout at the Battalion HQ football ground in Chimpu near here on Sunday.
The match went to tie-breaker after both the teams were locked 1-1 in the full and extra time.
Tage Tath of SAU and Hage Talo of Miichi FC scored the goals for their sides in the regulation time.
Tamo Bida of SAU was adjudged the player of the tournament while Rubu Payang of the same team was declared the best goalkeeper.
The ‘fair play team’ award went to Sports Generation, Ziro.
Khonkhung ‘B’ won the final match against Paatw ‘B’ 2-0. Nyikang and Pura Deilyang scored the goals for the winning team.
Koj Tatung and Tamo Apa, both from Khonkhung ‘B’, were adjudged the player of the tournament and the best goalkeeper, respectively.
The ‘best disciplined team’ award went to Ball Tula.
