Eco-Tourism-cum-Angling Festival begins

DARAK, Oct 24: The Eco-Tourism-cum-Angling Festival being held at the confluence of Sii and Sibu rivers under West Siang district was inaugurated by Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak here last Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Karbak disclosed that the maiden festival is a step towards conservation of aquatic life for promoting tourism in the area for rural employment generation and to raise the economy of the people through tourism.
He further assured to make it an annual event of the circle.
State Transport General Manager and Disaster Management Director Abu Tayeng, who was also present on the occasion, said that an amount of Rs 20 lakhs have been earmarked to celebrate the festival.
He further assured introduction of a Xylo (SUV) service from Liromoba to Aalo via Yomcha.
Arunachal Pradesh Tourist Operators’ Association president John Paye, Arunachal Anglers’ Forum president Bengia Tayu and Young Mission Adventure Club chairman Yomjum Yomgam, in their addresses dwelt on topics including, tourism promotion, angling in Arunachal and employment generation through tourism.
