Balijan lift cricket trophy

RONO HILLS, Jan 2: Balijan beat Itanagar by five wickets in the final match to lift the Papum Pare District Cricket Tournament trophy, along with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, here on Thursday.
Batting first, Itanagar failed to post a competitive score against Balijan’s daunting bowling attack, scoring just 74 runs and collapsing in 14.5 overs.
Balijan’s Taba Tapa took five wickets in his seven-over spell. He was later declared the man of the match.
Balijan’s batsmen chased the required 78 runs in 19.3 overs, losing five wickets.
For Itanagar, Teli Sera took four wickets in 10 overs (with one maiden), conceding 35 runs.
Sera won the man of the series award, having taken 10 wickets and scoring 60 runs in the tournament.
