ITANAGAR, Jan 30: An ‘orientation-cum-coordination meeting on the incident response system (IRS)’ was held here on Thursday, prior to the state-level mock exercise on earthquake scheduled to be organised on 11 February.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) nodal officer Kuldip Singh imparted training to the members of the state- and district-level incident response teams, including NDRF, SDRF, paramilitary and Army representatives.
The disaster management secretary presented a brief on the objectives of the programme, and other resource persons spoke on the ‘methodology of conducting mock exercise’.
The state-level mock exercise on earthquake will be organised jointly by the state disaster management agency and the NDMA on 11 February to check the preparedness of the state to cope with disasters.
The mock exercise will be preceded by a ‘tabletop exercise’ on 10 February. (DIPR)
