12-hr Koloriang bandh announced

KOLORIANG, Mar 9: The Koloriang Youth Organization has declared a 12-hour bandh in Koloriang on 11 March, stating that the Kurung Kumey district administration failed to meet its various demands.
In a representation to the deputy commissioner here, the organization said it has announced the bandh as the district magistrate failed to meet its demands even after the passing of the 10-day ultimatum it had served.
The organization’s demands include immediate action against illegal encroachment and setting up of structures by government employees and public near government buildings; immediate cancellation of land allotment and eviction of the structures in between the BRTF road and the general playground here; earth-cutting as per the DPR for the Trans-Arunachal Highway from Kush to the old DC office; preparing proper town planning for Koloriang; and immediate posting of two circle officers, an EAC and an ADC at the district headquarters, which currently has only one circle officer.
Also claiming that there is leakage in the tank of the 2×250 kw Payu hydropower project, which it said could pose a serious threat to the lives and properties of the villagers of Yapak, the organization sought proper maintenance and functioning of the project.
