New police recruits receive protective gear

NAMSAI, Apr 5: Twenty-seven newly recruited Arunachal Pradesh Police (civil)/IRBn constable cadets from Namsai district were provided with protective gear on 4 April.
The gear was procured with money donated by Namsai PS ASI (T), PD Sharma, and his wife Kalpana Sharma, who is an assistant teacher at APIL Primary School here.
Earlier, each of the couple had donated a month’s salary, amounting to Rs 1 lakh, to the Namsai police to procure 500 pieces of protective gear such as masks, gloves and spectacles.
The new recruits, hailing from Lekang, Namsai and Chongkham circles, have been deployed here on lockdown duty.
The SP and the DSP welcomed the cadets and briefed them on the nature of the duties they will be performing. The officers also cautioned the new recruits to keep themselves safe from the virus.
The SP advised them to “take the most of this opportunity and learn the art of policing.”
