ITANAGAR, 27 Jan: Governor BD Mishra and his wife Neelam Misra hosted the traditional at-home function on the occasion of the 72nd Republic Day at the Raj Bhavan here on 26 January.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his council of ministers, Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte, members of the state legislative assembly, senior functionaries, bureaucrats and citizens, ex-servicemen, sport personalities, achievers, students and special invitees attended the function.
Veer Nari Shakunthala A Bhandarkar, wife of late lieutenant colonel Ajit Bhandarkar (Shaurya Chakra, posthumously) of the Madras Regiment attended the function as a special guest.
The governor and his wife interacted with the distinguished guests and invitees and exchanged warm greetings on the special occasion.
The highlight of the function was a patriotic cultural programme presented by students from Rajiv Gandhi University. (Raj Bhavan)
