ITANAGAR, 7 May: The National Blood Transfusion Council in its latest guideline issued to the State Blood Transfusion Councils (SBTC) on 5 May reduced the deferral period for blood donation after Covid-19 vaccination from 28 days to 14 days.

Meanwhile, the Arunachal SBTC has requested the people to donate blood after the expiry of 14 days from the last Covid-19 vaccine dose, provided all other blood donors’ criteria are met.

However, the guidelines are reviewed from time to time as per the need, said an official release.
