IGP urges people to follow lockdown measures

NAHARLAGUN, 17 Jun: IGP (Law and Order) Chukhu Apa visited various nakas in the ICR on Thursday to review the implementation of the partial lockdown measures.

Speaking to the media at the Papu Nallah police picket, Apa expressed concern over the failure of the citizens to follow the partial lockdown measures.

“Everybody has their own excuses for being out on the road. It is very difficult to handle people in such a situation. People should follow the partial lockdown for their own safety,” said Apa.

He also urged the people to cooperate with the police in implementing the partial lockdown measures.

“The police don’t enjoy being on the road. We are here to implement a lockdown to stop the spread of the virus. I appeal to the people not to go out unless there is urgent work,” added Apa.
