Tension between ANSU, SP resolved

ITANAGAR, 17 Jun: The brewing tension over the alleged comment made by the Itanagar capital region (ICR) SP against the All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has been resolved following a reconciliation meeting held at Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall here on Thursday.

The reconciliation meeting was attended by Home Minister Bamang Felix, Sports Minister Mama Natung, Chayang Tajo MLA Hayang Mangfi, representatives of the ANSU, and ICR SP Jimmy Chiram.

Stating that the “misconception and miscommunication” between the ANSU and the SP have been amicably resolved, the home minister informed that both parties cleared all their misunderstandings during the meeting and resolved to work together to uplift the society.  Natung on his part commended the ANSU and the SP for amicably resolving the issue, and urged all to work towards communal harmony and development of the state.

“Society or state will never go on the path of development if we start pointing fingers at each other. We have more than 26 major tribes and hundreds of sub-tribes, and if we want a peaceful, developed state, we have to understand each other and clear such misconceptions amicably,” said Natung.

ANSU president Nabam Dodum expressed appreciation for the team of ministers for spearheading the reconciliation meeting to resolve the issue.

“The ANSU also doesn’t want to create any discomfort zone between any groups; rather, we will extend our helping hands for the welfare of the society,” said Dodum.
