ANINI, 19 Nov: Scores of women participated in a legal awareness programme organized here on Friday by the Dibang Valley Women’s Welfare Society (DVWWS) in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women.
Anini EAC (HQ) N Borang lauded the DVWWS for conducting the legal awareness programme “despite all odds,” while Dibang Valley SP Rajendra Singh sensitized the participants to crimes against women, and JMFC B Sora spoke on property rights of women in Arunachal Pradesh.
Women Welfare Officer Karan Tayu highlighted the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act and the ill effects of polygamy, and DPO Zilla Meto dwelt on gender equality and gender budgeting. (DIPRO)
