35 ILP violators detected, externed

ITANAGAR, 4 Aug: Thirty-five violators of the inner line permit (ILP) regime were detected during ILP checking drives carried out by the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) district administration at various locations of the capital.

On Wednesday, Special Magistrate Tem Kaya along with the police caught seven persons without ILP from Prem Nagar and the helipad areas in Naharlagun. Those who failed to produce ILPs were externed to Assam via the Banderdewa check gate.

In a similar drive led by Special Magistrate Dalin Tana on Thursday, 23 ILP violators were apprehended from the helipad and near the Lower Model Village areas. After verification, those who failed to produce ILPs were externed to Assam.

Tana informed that, among the defaulters, five labourers were caught working using tourist ILPs. Those defaulters were remanded at the Naharlagun police station first and later dropped off at the Banderdewa check gate. (DIPRO)
