ITANAGAR, 9 Sep: The 10-day ‘students’ induction programme’ for first year and lateral entry students started at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (RGGP) here on Friday.
The purpose of the programme is to help the new students familiarise themselves with the new environment; to inculcate in them the vision, mission and culture of the institution; and to help them build bonds with other students and faculty members.
The 10-day programme will include activities like yoga and literary and cultural events.
Addressing the inaugural function, RGGP Principal Taba Tath urged the students to “make the best utilisation of all the resources available in the college.” He also spoke on the vision and mission of the college.
A session on drawing and sketching techniques was conducted by popular cartoonist Jene Hai, which was followed by a quiz competition conducted by lecturer Arun Joram.
